Branford Jazz Night, Scholarship Fundraiser April 4 at Stony Creek Brewery
On Thursday, April 4, come out to enjoy an evening of music featuring local jazz artists from the Hartt School of Music at Stony Creek Brewery, during a special night to benefit the Branford Jazz Music Scholarship Fund of the Branford Jazz Concert Series.
In a press release, the Branford Jazz Concert Series announced it will partner with Stony Creek Brewery to deliver the fundraising event, to be held at the brewery, 5 Indian Neck Avenue in Branford, on April 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Ticket prices, $25 per person, include a Stony Creek Brewery pint glass and first premium crafted beer on the house. A food truck will offer food for purchase or guests can bring their own food to enjoy at the event. Event tickets are sale now by calling the Branford Recreation Department at (203)488-8304 or by visiting www.Branfordjazz.com.
The Branford Jazz Music Scholarship Fund was instituted in 2016 by the Branford Jazz Concert Series to create a scholarship for a Branford student who has a passion for jazz. The Branford Jazz on the Green series began in 2009, born out of the efforts of residents wanting to take Branford Recreation Department's free Sunday afternoon concerts to the next level. Under the auspices of Branford's Recreation Board, the Branford Jazz Concert Series committee was formed with volunteer members. Branford Recreation Department continues to assist the program.
With sponsorship assistance from local businesses and other local organizations, the Branford Jazz series has grown to feature nine Thursday evening live jazz shows from mid-June into August, drawing big names, rising stars and thousands of jazz lovers to fill the town green. The 2019 Branford Jazz Concert Series kicks off Thursday night, June 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Branford green and runs nine Thursdays through August 29 (no concert July 4).
