On Friday, March 15, the wrap came off, and a significant piece of the building addition came into view, at the Branford's Senior Center/Community expansion and renovation project.

Parks and Recreation Director Alex Palluzzi shared the news of the new views soon after workers removed huge, insulating building coverings which had allowed work to continue through the winter on the facility's north side. The two-story brick and concrete addition faces Prospect Street at one end and ties into the front entrance (Church Street) and back entrance (main parking lot) of the former Community House at 46 Church St.  

Wrapping still covers another notable change to the building, a two-story entry tower facing the main parking lot, which is accessed from Prospect Street.

As previously reported here, the project is now expected to be completed by Memorial Day 2019. At that point, the building will be turned over to the Town, to allow  Branford Parks and Recreation and Branford Senior Center to begin the move-in process.

Project contractor A. Secondino and Son (Branford) began work on the $12.1 million project in October 2017. The project architect firm is Quisenberry Arcari Architects, LLC (Farmington).
