One Fatality Following North Branford Mobile Home Fire
Residents of North Branford woke up this morning to learn the town's fire department responded to a deadly fire in a mobile home at 224 Foxon Road. A male victim pulled from the home by fire personnel was hospitalized and succumbed to his injuries. The victim's name has not been released.
North Branford Fire Department (NBFD) responded to the scene within minutes of being dispatched, following reports of a fire in a unit in the mobile home park breaking out at approximately 12:45 p.m. on March 1. The park is located on Route 80 near the North Branford/East Haven town line.
At about 4 a.m. on March 1, NBFD issued the following post on its official Facebook page:
"Great work by members of the NBFD this morning at the scene of a mobile home fire at 224 Foxon Rd. Within minutes of dispatch, personnel arrived on scene and determined an occupant was trapped. One hand line was deployed, an aggressive interior attack was initiated, an unconscious- pulseless male victim was located in a rear bed room, removed and NBFD EMS transported him to Yale ED with ALS. Personnel performing this rescue included DC of Training Bob Colangelo, Capt Jake Conway and FF-EMT Andy Consiglio. The fire is currently under investigation by the NB fire marshal assisted by staff from the OSFM."
