February 12th, 2019: On February 8, 2019, Branford Police arrested Jason Newman, age 30, formerly of Branford, on outstanding arrest warrants. 

A subsequent investigation and search of Newman's vehicle led to the discovery of six (6) handguns.  Newman was charged with six counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, six counts of Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, and four counts of Illegal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine.

He was detained on a $250,000 bond.  The investigation is ongoing.
