Josh Balter Endorsed by Working Families Party for District 99 State House Special Election

Josh Balter has received the endorsement of delegates from the Connecticut Working Families Party for his campaign for Connecticut state representative in District 99 in East Haven. He will run on the Working Families Party ballot line for the election taking place on Tuesday, Feb. 26. He has also received the Democratic nomination.

“I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Working Families Party,” Josh Balter. “This year is an opportunity for our state to really invest in what makes Connecticut a fantastic place to live and raise a family: our working people. It’s time to stop protecting billionaires from doing their fair share and start passing good ideas like Paid Family & Medical Leave, a $15 minimum wage, and pay equity that give our working families a real opportunity to get ahead.”

Growing up in a poor family on state assistance, Balter understood from an early age the structural challenges that working families face to get ahead. When his mother went to school and became a nurse with the assistance of a state program, he learned firsthand how government can play an essential role lifting people out of poverty and building stronger, independent communities. He is running for state representative to help build an economy that works for everyone, including passing comprehensive Paid Family & Medical Leave and raising the fair revenue our state needs to invest in schools, infrastructure, and quality union jobs.
