The Branford Land Trust held its annual animal tracking class on Jan. 26 at the Lake Saltonstall Recreation Area. The class was led by naturalists Tom Cleveland and Chris Woerner, and teaches how to recognize animal footprints and other signs of their passage through the woods. Here, Cleveland shows off a piece of deer fur found along the hike. The next class will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Lake Saltonstall Recreation Area, and it is free and open to the public.
