Residents, Other Stakeholders Urged to Take North Branford Survey by Dec. 7
If you live, work or own a business in North Branford, and have an opinion about how the town should be shaped over the next decade, now is the time to answer the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) update survey. The window to respond to the online survey opened Nov. 1 and closes on Friday, Dec. 7.
Do you feel the town needs more or has too many housing options for seniors, singles, young families with children, young adults and empty nesters? Do you have an opinion on what part of town should be the next focus for economic development? Those questions, and more, are awaiting input in the the anonymous survey, which takes about 20 minutes to answer. Responses will provide valuable information to the consulting firm hired to assist the Town in producing its next Plan of Conversation and Development (POCD).
Other topics in the survey gather information relating to demographics, housing, land use, community facilities, infrastructure, economic development, open space, recreation, transportation, and sustainability. The survey also includes comment space.

All survey answers will help establish priorities for the work that will take place to craft the new POCD, which is being overseen by a committee appointed by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Future meetings/community workshops will take place beginning in early 2019.
The state requires the plan to be updated every ten years. Milone & MacBroom, Inc. of Cheshire is the town's POCD update consultant.
