Those traveling through town this morning should avoid Route 1. A section of the road is currently closed due to a gas main break.

The Guilford Fire Department is currently on the scene and the Guilford Police Department said teams responded to the break around 9:30 a.m. this morning.

The road is expected to reopen around 11 a.m. and there are currently no reports of any injuries or serious damage.
