CTLCV Endorses Devin Carney for the Connecticut General Assembly
The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) has endorsed State Representative Devin Carney (R-23) for re-election to the Connecticut General Assembly. As the Republican co-chair of the bipartisan Clean Energy Caucus, Carney is a staunch supporter of investing in renewable energy to create good jobs in Connecticut. He is respected on both sides of the aisle for his commitment to clean air and water, and supports the State Water Plan and water as a public trust.
“Rep. Carney has been a champion for clean energy and the thousands of jobs it supports,” said CTLCV Executive Director Lori Brown. “As co-chair of the bipartisan Clean Energy Caucus, Rep. Carney was an early signer of our Clean Energy for All pledge to move Connecticut to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050 or sooner. We need more leaders like Rep. Carney who acknowledge the threat climate change poses and the importance of taking action to reverse the damage done so far.”
To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, candidates must have completed the Survey on the Environment earlier this summer. All candidates running for legislative office were invited to complete the questionnaire, and CTLCV received more than 100 responses. Endorsements are issued based on a candidate’s responses as well as additional information provided to CTLCV’s Endorsement Committee.
