Branford Police Arrest Two Men on Weapons Charges
October 12, 2018: A disturbance at Motel 6 on East Main Street led Branford police to the arrest of two New Haven men for Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
On Friday, Oct. 12 at approximately 2 a.m., officers responded to the Motel 6 after a caller reported a loud disturbance coming from one of the rooms. Officers made contact with 49-year-old Joseph Feero and 38-year-old Matthew Corbett in the room in question. While investigating, an officer observed a backpack on the bed, with the partial handle of a firearm visible. The officer seized the firearm, a loaded .38 caliber revolver. Both Feero and Corbett denied ownership. Both parties are convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms.
Feero and Corbett were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Mischief in Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Carrying Pistol without a Permit, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Both were held on a $20,000.00 pending an appearance in New Haven Superior Court.
