North Branford's 29th Annual Community Food Drive Set for Oct. 27
October 3, 2018: North Branford's 29th Annual Community Food Drive will Kick-Off Saturday, October 27. North Branford Public Schools will once again facilitate the annual Community Food Drive, and this year the drive will be working to stock the shelves of the local food pantries.
The 29th Annual North Branford Community Food Drive will be held on Saturday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Major support for the drives each year come from the students of North Branford Intermediate School and North Branford High School. Teams of students collect canned goods, pasta, and personal hygiene items from all segments of the community.
North Branford residents can assist by placing items by your mailbox on the morning of October 27. Please remember to check expiration dates of food items prior to donating them.
Anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution may do so by making a check payable to North Branford Food Drive/NBIS. Payments may be mailed to: North Branford Intermediate School, 654 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT 06471 Attention: Keith O'Rourke, Principal.
Supermarket gift cards are also an ideal way to contribute to the food drive. Teams vie for the most items collected – receiving one point for every item received. Teams with the most points receive gift certificates from local businesses.
A large number of North Branford Public School employees as well as parents and community-minded individuals assist at the drive. If you would like to participate please contact North Branford Intermediate School (203) 484-1500 for more information.
The drive is spearheaded by North Branford teachers, administrators and students. In addition, the Public Works Department has volunteered their services to help distribute the food to the local food pantries.
