Deep River Family Day Saturday, Sept. 15
Deep River Family Day starts at 8:15 a.m. with a one-mile run (followed at 9 a.m. with the 5K Fife and Drum Run) on Saturday, Sept. 15, beginning a day full of activity in Deep River center and followed up by an evening of food, music, and fireworks at Plattwood Park.
Deep River Family Day is an annual event organized by Deep River merchants and the Parks & Recreation Department. During the day, downtown Deep River will host a number of events and activities, including the bounce houses at Deep River Elementary School; stores offering treats, prizes, and special discounts; and the Pet Parade.
From 6 to 9 p.m., the celebration moves to Plattwood Park, where food will be available until fireworks start after dark. Additional parking is available at John Winthrop Middle School; buses will bring people down to the park for the celebration.
