Rep. Siegrist Hosts School Supply Drive
State Representative Robert Siegrist (R-36) will host a School Supply Drive through Friday, Aug. 24. All items collected will benefit youngsters who attend school in Regional District 4 and 17. This school supply drive will ensure that every child attending school will have all the necessary items regardless of his or her family’s financial situation.
“As someone who attended school in the 36th District growing up, I want to make sure that every girl and boy in our community has what they need to succeed on the first day of school,” Rep. Siegrist said. “This drive tries to ensure that all children are set up for success when they walk into school on their first day. I know that the children in our community will greatly appreciate the generosity of all those who choose to donate.”
Suggested donations include No. 2 pencils, Post-Its, index cards, highlighters, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, magic markers, dry erase markers, pencil erasers, paper clips, crayons, safety scissors, scotch tape and calculators. Siegrist, who attended public school in Haddam, looks forward to the opportunity to give back.
