07/18/2018 04:01 PMThe Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter has joined with The Sound/Zip06.com and photographer Kathryn Schauer Photography for the month of July to honor those who serve us in our communities by recognizing their work while also showcasing animals waiting for their forever home.
Meet Sgt. Stosh Konesky. He has been with the Branford Police Department for 15 years. Konesky’s favorite part of his job is the uncertainty. From one day to the next, an officer has no idea what’s going to happen. Is it going to be busy is it going to be slow? What type of calls are going to come? He also enjoys imparting stuff that happened in his own life and using that to help others.
Konesky is picture here with Lady, a beautiful, eight year old bulldog/boxer mix. Lady is on a kidney diet dog food because in her previous house she had a kidney infection for over a year and had no treatment. She has been treated for the infection and is doing great now! Lady loves to give kisses and play with other dogs and she loves children, too. Lady just wants a forever home where she can be loved and cherished.
The shelter thanks Sgt. Konesky and to all of the members of the Branford Police Department including police officers, dispatchers, detectives, and support staff who keep us safe in our community!
The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, located at 749 East Main Street, Branford, serves the towns of Branford and North Branford. All of its dogs and cats have a wellness checkup; dogs and cats six months and older are spayed neutered and vaccinated before they are adopted. Cats are also tested for leukemia and AIDS and dogs are heartworm tested and microchipped. For information about adoption, donations, or volunteering, visit www.branfordanimalshelter.org or call Shelter Director Laura Burban at 203-315-4125 extension 198.
