06/20/2018 09:22 AMThe Madison Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) second quarterly meeting for 2018 will take place on Wednesday, June 27, at 6 p.m. in Room B of the Madison Town office building.
The WPCA is a town-appointed body which oversees the disposal of all wastewater in the town and monitors threats to ground and surface water. The WPCA accomplishes this by enacting a Water Pollution Control Plan and working with the health director to ensure the proper design, construction, and overall management of septic systems and wastewater treatment plants in the town.
The public is invited to attend all WPCA meetings to learn more about the plan and to voice their opinions on any issues related to wastewater disposal and/or water quality. The public is invited to ask questions about how wastewater is regulated in Madison and what role the WPCA plays in conjunction with state guidelines and regulations.
Agendas are published in advance and can be found on the town’s website www.madisonct.org. Additional information about the WPCA and its plans and objectives can be viewed on the town website under “Boards & Commissions.”
