North Branford HS Inducts 24 National Honor Society Members
On Wednesday, June 6, 24 North Branford High School (NBHS) juniors were inducted into the Totoket Chapter of the National Honor Society.
Induction is determined by the national standards associated with the National Honor Society based upon four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Faculty Adviser Jon Rapport organized the June 6 ceremony. Current members of the NBHS National Honor Society were on-hand along with family members of the inductees and school personnel; with 2017 -18 NBHS National Honor Society President Emmy Norton acting as master of ceremonies. During the ceremony, NBHS Teacher of the Year Katie Laudano addressed the inductees. Board of Education Vice Chair Marcey Onforio, Superintendent of Schools Scott Schoonmaker, and Principal Todd Stoeffler also spoke during the event. In addition, the NBHS Chamber Choir performed, under the direction of Music Educator Nick Fillipides.
2018-19 NBHS National Honor Society inductees are Colby Anastasio, Ashley Anderson, Brianna Annunziato, Jason Ash, Alessandra Augur, Alvin Chan, Sarah Cook, Alexina Cristante, Samantha DeAngelo, Jessie Kilburn, Caitlin May, Ian McLay, Patrick Miconi, Ana Pavic, Gillian Penna, Joanna Phabmixay, Julia Pietrogallo, Michael Rabuffo, Brianna Raccio, Rebecca Sabetta, Ashely Slubowski, Noah Taylor, Mary-Kate Torgerson and Kaylee Velez.
Officers for the 2018-19 school year are: Brianna Raccio, president; Noah Taylor, vice president; Kaylee Velez, secretary; Ana Pavic, treasurer.
