Albis Endorsed for Re-election in 99th Assembly District
State Representative James Albis (D-99) was officially nominated to run for re-election in 99th Assembly District in East Haven. In front of a room full of DTC members, friends, and family, Representative Albis spoke about what serving East Haven has meant to him.
“It has been a great honor representing East Haven in the legislature,” Albis said. “East Haven is a community in the truest sense of the word. We band together to help when something goes wrong; we prop each other up when we achieve successes; and we encourage each other to reach for the improbable, because we believe that hard work should yield opportunities for all of us. I hope to earn your support to continue to fight for this amazing East Haven community at the State Capitol.”
Albis was nominated by Clean Up East Haven founder George Smith, East Haven Board of Education member Erika Santino Santiago, and his wife Kimberly Glassman.
“We support James because he delivers for East Haven,” Smith stated. “With our state in uncertain times, we are lucky to have such an intelligent, hard-working, and accessible representative who truly cares about all of the constituents he serves. To put it simply, we need him back in Hartford.”
Albis was first elected in a special election in 2011 and is currently serving his fourth term as state representative in his hometown of East Haven. He has been a consistent and active champion for the people of the 99th District, advancing policies that promote economic growth, expand the middle class, and protect our seniors. Albis and Glassman have been married since June 2015 and live in East Haven. Glassman is the director of the Foundation for Fair Contracting, an organization that helps to protect construction workers from wage theft.
