05/29/2018 03:43 PMOn May 22, students throughout the area were recognized during the annual Shoreline Conference's English Departments Writing Contest Awards Ceremony held at Valley Regional High School, including two North Branford High School (NBHS) students, Marisa Helff and Elizabeth Sarenas.
The contest is sponsored by the Shoreline Principal's Association and included an award event at Valley Regional High School (Deep River). Students from the entire 13-school conference submitted their works earlier this year in seven categories, with winners then announced at the event.
The process included judges reviewing the writings with a blind review during the final stage. Helff was selected first place recipient in the category of Literary Analysis Writing (grades 9 - 10) and Sarena earned third place for Humor.
The NBHS community congratulates these students and thanks the school's dedicated English Department.
