Academic and Extracurricular Achievements
• The following local photographers were honored at the 12th annual Land Trusts Photo Contest at the Lyme Senior Center, Old Lyme on April 6: Kathryn Cannon of Centerbrook, first place in the Landscape/Waterscape category; Isabelle Hansen of Ivoryton, third place in the Landscape/Waterscape category; Jake Ramage of Deep River, first place in the Youth category; Cameron Frazier of Ivoryton, third place in the Youth category; Alex Quets of Essex, honorable mention in the Youth category; John Beichner of Essex, third place in the Wildlife category; and Samuel Swap of Essex, third place in the Black and White category. The contest attracted 350 entries depicting wildlife, flora and scenery of East Haddam, Essex, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Salem.
Academic and Extracurricular Achievements
• Paulina Adams of Chester, a student at Curry College, were inducted into Psi Chi, the international psychology honor society; and Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honor society. She also received the Human Rights Award at Curry College’s 49th annual Awards Recognition Ceremony.
• Katelynn Maxwell of Chester, a student at Muhlenberg College, received The George E. Hambrecht Law School Award.
