Class Photo, New Logo: Class of 2018 Inducted into Branford Education Hall of Fame

On April 26, the Branford Education Hall of Fame (BEHF) Class of 2018 was inducted and honored during a celebration Woodwinds of Branford. In addition, the all-volunteer organization unveiled a banner with the new BEHF logo representing knowledge and growth, designed and donated by Branford artist Martha Link Walsh.

The members of Class of 2018 have been installed among more than BEHF 200 members at www.branfordeducationhalloffame.com, which serves as a virtual Hall of Fame.  In addition, new inductee names are inscribed on bookplates set inside of books donated annually to libraries of Branford Public Schools, as part of BEHF's "Susan Spear Book Project." Since the project began, nearly 1200 books have been donated.

The members of the BEHF Class of 2018 are, in alphabetical order: Patricia Dickinson, Special Education at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School; Sharon Dixon, Branford Elementary school teacher; Lillian M. Fike, Mary T. Murphy kindergarten teacher; Mildred Frumento, Walsh Intermediate School (WIS) Special Education Teacher; Robin Brett Goeler, WIS and Mary T. Murphy Principal; David H.S. Gruendel, Social Studies Teacher, Branford High School (BHS) and WIS; David W. Martens, PhD. Professor of Exercise Science, Southern CT State University; Maria M. Ogren, BHS English teacher and BHS Dramat Director; Salvatore Pettinato, BHS English teacher (posthumously) and Malaine A. Trecoske, Horticulturist.
