Branford Harbor St. Bridge Will be Closed May 14 - Sept. 10, 2018
Beginning Monday, May 14, the Harbor Street Bridge will be closed to traffic for four months due to bridge replacement work. Branford residents who use the Harbor Street Bridge, which spans Mill Creek, will be detoured by way of Maple Street, Short Beach Road or Stannard Avenue. Residents will still be able to access Branford Point, Parker Memorial Park and the state Boat Launch via the Stannard Road approach to Harbor Street.

May 1, 2018: Construction of the replacement of the Harbor Street Bridge over Mill Creek will begin on May 14, 2018. On that day the road will be closed to traffic at the bridge. Traffic will detour around the construction area by way of Maple Street, Short Beach Road and Stannard Avenue.
Hemlock Construction was awarded the $1.46 million dollar contract and has 120 days to complete the project.
The road is scheduled to be reopened by September 10, 2018. The road and sidewalk will also be closed to pedestrians at the bridge construction site.
