Don't Miss 'A Night at the Cabaret' In Branford May 4
On Friday May 4, entertainers found in the hottest piano bars in New York City (NYC) will recreate the experience in Branford for "A Night at the Cabaret." All proceeds from the evening, which also includes dinner, dessert and a Live & Silent Auction, will benefit St. Mary School (SMS; soon to be East Shoreline Catholic Academy) in Branford. The special evening takes place at Bill Miller's Castle from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m.
The special evening will be hosted by SMS Class of 1999 alumnus Colin Sheehan. As a gift to the town where he grew up, Sheehan has brought his years of experience in the entertainment world and Broadway back to Branford, delivering memorable events to help local non-profits put on fundraising programs for the best possible return.
NYC piano bars are known for the excitement of encountering Broadway stars or rising talents who take up the invitation of the emcee/piano player to deliver show-stopping Broadway tunes, standards, jazz and other favorite genres.
"You never know who you're going to see," said Sheehan. "I'm really trying to bring the experience of a New York piano bar to Branford. It will definitely feel like that spontaneity."
Sheehan's tapped into some talented NYC friends to perform piano-side May 4. They include Laura Pavles, Marissa Mulder, Will TN Hall and Sean Bernardi. Check out links to Bernardi singing "You'll Be Back" from Broadway's Hamilton; Mulder singing Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," Pavles singing Cindy Lauper's "Me" and Hall performing a hilarious Madonna medley on SMS Facebook page here
The May 4 evening will also serve to recognize SMS 2017-18 guest honorees Joseph Criscuolo, Frank E. Hall, David Sullivan and Jennifer and Bill Aniskovich; as well as Distinguished Service Recipients Sr. Annette D'Antonio, Sr. Carolyn Severino, and Sr. Lorraine Chaudron.
