North Guilford’s Christmas Tree Toppled in Nor’easter

North Guilford’s Christmas tree is no longer. The large pine planted in 1976 by Bill Sorensen came down in last weekend’s nor’easter—and Sorensen was there to help remove it with his friends and neighbors Eric Werle (who volunteered his truck, chipper, and chain saws), Chad Holcomb, and Matt Pallman, who all pitched in to remove the tree before this week’s second storm. Here, Sorensen stands where the tree fell as Pallman shovels up the small stuff.
