Police Credit Social Media for Arrest of Shoplifting Suspect

North Haven Police are crediting the help of social media for the arrest of a man wanted for shoplifting from an Ulta Beauty store in December 2017.
According to police, a man fled from Ulta Beauty, 370 North Universal Drive, in December 2017 with $800 worth of merchandise. He had fled the scene before police arrived on scene.
Police posted a picture of the suspect to Facebook and Twitter and within one day someone had identified him, and police were able to obtain a warrant.
Mark McGilton, 53, of West Haven was arrested on Monday, Feb. 26. He was charged with larceny and held on a $5,000 bond.
