Bar Patron Arrested for Displaying Hand Gun in North Haven
A man is under arrest in North Haven after a dispute in a bar escalated and he displayed a handgun.
North Haven Police were called to Harry's Sports Grill, 201 Washington Avenue, on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 9:20 p.m. after receiving a report that a male patron was displaying a gun. Witnesses told police that a dispute had broken out in the bar between two customers and when it got loud, they went outside. Once outside, the male patron displayed a handgun while yelling at a female.
Police detained the male patron, later identified as Matthew Sheltra, and found a loaded 9mm Glock pistol in his waistband.
Sheltra was arrested and the Glock was seized. Sheltra was chared with carrying a firearm while under the influence, breach of peace in the second degre, and threatening in the second degree.
