Otto Von Schnoodle Visits East Haven
Children’s book character Otto Von Schnoodle made a visit to East Haven in December with Grace Birch, author of the Otto Von Schnoodle series and community advocate, to promote literacy and respect. During his stay, Otto visited Overbrook Early Learning Center, Momauguin Elementary School, The Little Jackets at East Haven High School, and even the Mayor’s Office.
The Grace Birch Community Alliance worked with officials in the school district as well as local businesses to provide more than 1,500 copies of books from The Adventures of Otto Von Schnoodle series to East Haven children, as well as sponsor Otto’s visit and special events.
“At every school visit, we engaged with local police, fire, and rescue, believing introductions and interaction is so critical at a young age,” said Birch.
The Grace Birch Community Alliance is a non-profit organization that travels the U.S., working with children, first responders, and military personnel to promote literacy and respect. For more information, visit www.theadventuresofottovonschnoodleweebly.com.
