Wade’s Country Store to Close Doors in Deep River
Wade’s Country Store, the Route 80 shop known for breakfast, lunch, seafood, and a little bit of everything, will close at the end of the year. On Dec. 17, the Winthrop business posted the following on its Facebook page:
“For the past ten years, it has brought us such enjoyment and fulfillment to serve our community of loyal customers. This fantastic journey of an old-fashioned mom-and-pop country store wouldn’t have been possible without you or our dedicated, hard-working staff members. To us, our store has been more than just a place to provide a service to people; more than a sandwich to-go or a last-minute ‘honey I forgot the milk’ run...It’s been a place of friendship and of family; a cozy little joint on Route 80 that we’ve called home for the last decade.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision, but we’ve chosen to take a step back, slow life down a bit and close our doors. Saturday, December 30th, 2017 will be our last day of business. We will be open from 6a-3p, and we hope each of you will stop in for one last coffee, meal or even just a laugh.
“Thank you for 10 wonderful years.”
