Stony Creek Christmas Pageant Postponed Until Dec. 16
Dec. 8, 2017, Stony Creek, Branford, CT: Because of the expected snowstorm tomorrow (Dec. 9), the annual Stony Creek Christmas Pageant has been postponed and will now take place on Saturday evening, December 16th from 6-8 p.m. Hosted by the Stony Creek Congregational Church with support from the Stony Creek Community and the Town of Branford, the long running holiday event depicts seven biblical Christmas scenes staged in and around the quaint Village of Stony Creek.
At 6 p.m. the Stony Creek Fife & Drum Corp kicks off the night's activities by marching the ½ mile route from the Stony Creek Museum to Madera Park. The biblical scenes feature a number of local actors, sheep and other livestock. Over 1,000 luminaries light the festival route.
A Musical Performance by Allegro Performing Arts Academy will be held in the sanctuary of the Congregational Church at 6:15 p.m.
That evening the general public is invited to walk through the Stony Creek Museum. An open house will be held The Church of Christ Congregational in Stony Creek during pageant hours for refreshments. Stony Creek Shops and Restaurants plan to be open for the event. Branford Food Pantry, Branford Counseling Center's Basic Needs Program, Take a Vet Fishing and Community Dining Room will be providing information in the Church Fellowship Hall. Donations towards the work of these charities will be accepted. There is no charge for any of the pageant activities.
In case of severe weather the event will be cancelled.
Without support of The Town of Branford, Stony Creek Museum Legacy Theater, Zuwalick & Sons Sawmill and a number of local businesses and families this event would not be possible. Please contact Jenny Glass at jenny.glass@snet.net to volunteer or donate to the pageant.
