Gaylord Hospital Physical Therapy Expanding
Gaylord Hospital’s Outpatient Therapy, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine office on Devine Street in North Haven announced an expansion and showed off some of the improvements at an open house on Nov. 10.
The facility offers therapy in more than 5,000 square-feet of office space with access to gym equipment. The outpatient location treats sports injuries, orthopedic post-surgical care, and weekend warriors.
Gaylord Physical Therapy, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Manager Jacob Hunter said before the expansion, the facility had been limited when it came to the type of patient the hospital could treat, because of the small space.
As Gaylord’s reputation grew in the community, Hunter said a higher demand for services warranted more space.
“We were able to increase our space; more open treatment space for higher functional training, more athletic, plyometric, return-to-sport type of treatments,” Hunter said.
Hunter thanked Vice-President of Operations and Strategy Sonja LaBarbera and President and CEO George Kyriacou for their support in helping the clinic expand. He also extended his appreciation to the contractor for the project, Dan Sullivan of DCA Home Improvement, saying he was accommodating and worked around the clinic’s treatment schedule.
“We didn’t lose one day or one hour or treatment time,” Hunter said.
