As of 2 p.m. today, Nov. 7, North Branford's townwide municipal election had seen a steady pace at North Branford's District One poll; and a moderate pace at Northford's District Two poll; according to poll moderators. By 2 p.m., nearly 1,300 of the town's 9,625 registered voters had turned out to cast their ballots.
As of 1:30 p.m., approximately 700 votes had been tallied in District One at Jerome Harrison Elementary School, said District 1 Moderator Charles Larkins. As of 2 p.m., approximately 590 votes had been counted in District Two, Stanley T. Williams Community Center, said District Two Moderator Lisa Fitch.
District One has 5,234 registered voters and District Two has 4,388 registered voters, according to numbers received today from the North Branford Registrar's office.
In 2015, the town had a total of 8,727 registered voters. While the 2015 municipal election drew a total of 27 percent of the electorate, its worth noting that the overall number of registered voters in town has increased by nearly 900 voters since that time.
