At the Polls: Branford Voting Turnout On Pace With 2015 Townwide Response
With five hours left to go, 23.1 percent of all Branford registered voters had submitted their ballots at the town's seven polling places. The numbers show Branford's registered voters are coming out to vote today at a steady rate that matches the response seen in the last municipal election of two years ago.
Branford Registrar of Voters Dan Hally said today's total townwide votes received as of 3 p.m. is "...about on target" with the 29.3 percent of townwide voters who had come out to the polls by 3 p.m. during the 2015 election.
Based on the rate of response, Hally estimates that a total of 38 to 40 percent of the town's electorate will vote in Branford's 2017 Municipal Election by the time the polls close tonight, Nov. 7., at 8 p.m.
