Registered to Vote? Branford's Municipal Election is Nov. 7
On Tuesday, November 7, Branford voters will elect the next group of town government leaders to fill positions in many posts, including the Board of Selectmen, Representative Town Meeting and Board of Education, among others.
The following information is shared by Branford's Registrars of Voters to assist residents seeking to register to vote in the Nov. 7, 2017 municipal elections:
In Branford, residents can bring proof of identification and register to vote in person in the Town Clerk's office at Branford Town Hall, 1019 Main St., any time during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday). Residents can also register in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., in the Branford Registrars of Voters Office, 40 Kirkham St. Branford's Registrars of Voters are Marion E. Burkard and Daniel J. Hally.
To request a Voter Registration Application, please call the Registrar of Voters Office at (203) 483-3998. Residents may register online and/or may also print the application on the Town of Branford's website found here Applications may be mailed to: Registrar of Voters P.O. Box 150 Branford CT 06405. A resident is not a registered voter until their completed application is approved and they receive confirmation from the Registrar of Voters Office.
There are several special voter registration dates and deadlines to note:
Registration by Mail and Online Registration: A mail-in application for a new voter must be received by the Registrars of Voters (or postmarked) by October 31, 2017, which is also the last day for Online Registration for applicants to be entitled to vote in the November 7, 2017 election.
Last Regular Voter Registration Session: Tuesday, October 31, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Applicants must appear in person at Registrars' office with identification to register to vote in the Nov. 7, 2017 Municipal Election.
Limited Voter Registration Session: Monday, November 6, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. To admit those seeking to vote whose qualifications allow due to becoming 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, or resident of the municipality since October 31, 2017. Must register in person with the Registrars of Voters or Town Clerk.
