North Branford Candidates Forum: Public Can Suggest Questions, Topics
On Monday, Oct. 23, the 12 candidates vying for nine open seats on the 2017-19 North Branford Town Council will be invited to answer questions and topics suggested by the public, as part of a Candidates' Forum hosted by the League of Women Voters-East Shore (LWVES).
LWVES will gather suggested questions and topics submitted by the public, either emailed in advance or submitted in person at the event, which takes place Monday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Stanley T. Williams Community Center, 1332 Middletown Avenue in Northford. Emails with suggested questions or topics may be sent to elow@hotmailcom. For more information about the forum, call 2030457-9888.
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, North Branford registered voters will vote for nine Town Council members to serve a two-year term from November 2017 to November 2019. Voters will also elect four members to serve on the seven-person Board of Education.
North Branford's Democratic Town Council candidates are incumbents Joseph Faughan, Marie E. Diamond, Daniel M. Armin, George Miller, and new candidates Vincent J. Mase, Sr., and Colin Johnson. On Sept. 19, Mase was appointed to the remainder of the 2015-2017 Town Council term, filling a Democratic seat vacated by Chris Manna.
North Branford's Republican Town Council candidates are incumbents Michael Doody, Anthony S. Candelora, Alfred Rose, and Rose Marie Angeloni and new candidates Bob Viglione and Thomas P. Zampano.
