Branford Man Arrested for Trying to Kill Wife
October 5, 2017: Anthony Delucia (DOB 8/18/1936) was arrested just after 5 a.m. this morning when police received 911 calls from neighbors complaining of a domestic dispute.
When Officers Erik Suraci and Sean Rubano arrived at Delucia's home at 26 Turtle Bay Drive, they found Delucia, 81, outside of the residence struggling on the ground with his 74 year-old wife, attempting to stab her with a kitchen knife. Officer Suraci was able to immediately subdue Anthony Delucia and take him into custody.
Paramedics from the Branford Fire Department treated the victim at the scene for lacerations to her hands. She was later transported to an area medical facility for further evaluation and treatment.
Anthony Delucia was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault Second Degree on an Elderly Victim and Breach of Peace Second Degree. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and will be arraigned in New Haven Court this morning at 10 a.m.
