New Public Parking Area Now Paved in Saybrook
Soon patrons of The Kate and Main Street businesses will have a convenient new off-site site where they can park their vehicles. The Main Street Parking and Connection Park project, which broke ground in July, is on target to be finished by October.
The grant-funded construction project will transform the site of the former police station site into a new municipal parking lot for 27 vehicles.
Earlier this month, the new parking area was paved with asphalt and wooden rail guardrail fencing installed around the lot’s central drainage swale and along the lot’s edges.
Crews last week began installing new concrete sidewalks on the Main Street edge. Within a few weeks, work to install plantings and grass will begin.
