09/13/2017 09:38 AMThe proposed sale of the town’s Reggie Hatch Community Center had caused concern among some residents, but the controversy appears over for now. The Town Council unanimously voted against the sale of the building at its Sept. 5 meeting.
Council members shared a range of opinions on the proposed sale, including the belief that the town should keep the building in case the adjacent Fire Department needs to expand as other Foxon-area developments are considered. Council members also suggested that, if offered for sale, the property should be put out to bid to attract higher offers and that regardless, the town should take more time to consider better uses of the site.
