Academic and Extracurricular Achievements
• Rachel Balzano, an English major at Ithaca College, is conducting research this summer as part of the School of Humanities and Sciences’ Summer Scholars Program. Balzano’s research topic is “Reissuing the 1920 Novel The Shadow by Mary White Ovington.”
• Adriana Barbiero graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Caitlin G. Barrett’s neuroscience research power point presentation at the 27th annual Robyn Rafferty Mathias Student Research Conference was selected for Best Oral Present by an Undergraduate Student in the Natural Sciences. A year ago, Barrett’s neuroscience poster presentation at the 26th annual Robyn Rafferty Mathias Student Research Conference was selected for Best Poster Presentation in the Life Sciences by an Undergraduate Student. Barrett also graduated from American University with a B.S. in neuroscience.
• Christopher Chieffo graduated from Roger Williams University with a B.S. in finance.
• John Elias Heckman-Heath, the son of Honor Heath and Charles Heckman, earned a B.A. in philosophy from Lawrence University.
• Robert Mitchell recently trained at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

• Evan Stockmon, the son of Ted Stockmon of North Haven and the late Kathleen Adams of Ledyard, graduated from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business with a degree in information systems management. Stockmon will begin his career with United Health Care in Boston in June.

• Goy Voladate presented an oral presentation titled “Organic Foods: Issue and Challenges” at the third annual CREATE Conference at Eastern Connecticut State University.
