Help Map Out Branford's Transit Oriented District June 22
On Thursday, June 22, Branford is looking to fill the discussion tables at an interactive workshop, to help map out a study for a Transit Oriented District (TOD). The district will support business, residential and commercial growth applications in a 1.5 mile radius surrounding the Branford Rail Station.
The meeting is a follow up to the well-attended, initial public informational meeting on May 22, which included a brief brainstorming session to gather ideas and concerns from attendees. See the story here
Town Planner Harry Smith said BFJ Planning Group (NY), the team hired by Branford with a state grant to conduct the study, will open the June 22 meeting with a progress update. Then, the consultant team will have several discussion tables available for attendees on specific topics related to TOD area, such "Waterfront Connections and Access," and "Transportation/Parking," said Smith.
"Each table will be staffed by a member of the consultant team with the appropriate expertise. At the end of the meeting, each group will 'report out' to the attendees," said Smith.
The second public workshop for the TOD study takes place Thursday, June 22 at 7 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room at Branford Fire Headquarters, 45 North Main St. The workshop is scheduled to take about two hours.
