Pairing Wine and Oysters with Sustainability in Madison
On Saturday, June 25, the Madison Wine Exchange will host an afternoon celebrating fine spirits and the diversity of oysters of Long Island sound, to benefit Save the Sound.
Guests will be treated to a presentation by Jonathan Waters of the Thimble Island Shellfish Company, titled “The Remarkable Story of the Oyster & its History, Culture, and Future.” Attendees will be given a tasting of five varieties of locally sourced oysters on the half shell, each paired to a particular wine, spirit, or beer that best complements their individual style. Pairings and commentary will be presented by Court of Masters C.S. Sommelier Joe Dolce of the Madison Wine Exchange.
Tickets are limited, and are available for $40 in store at the Madison Wine Exchange, 188 Boston Post Road, Madison, or by phone at 203-318-8663.
All proceeds of ticket sales as well as cases of wine sold will benefit Save the Sound, a bi-state program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment. For more information, visit www.ctenvironment.org.
