Awards and Recognitions
The Patient is U Foundation has awarded Guilford Radiology its Halo Award for commitment to great outcomes; easy, courteous access; and compassionate care. Guilford Radiology has provided evidence-based medical care to the Guilford community for more than 35 years, providing state-of-the-art exams, including 3D tomosynthesis mammography and high-field-strength MRI.
Lung cancer screening is an example of Guilford Radiology’s commitment to the community. In 2011, when the United States Task Force proved that lung cancer screening CT scans saved lives, insurance didn’t cover this new exam. In order to provide this life-saving exam to the community, Guilford Radiology offered this CT exam for only $100. For veterans, lung cancer screening has been free on Veteran’s Day. Guilford Radiology was the first center along the shoreline to get the ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center Certification. Guilford Radiology recently acquired a new 80 slice CT scanner, allowing for the lowest radiation dose possible.
For all Guilford police, ambulance, and firefighters, and all U.S. active service personnel and veterans, if insurance doesn’t pay for lung cancer screening exam, Guilford Radiology will conduct the exams for free.
