04/18/2017 02:30 PMThe Shore Line Trolley Museum and Colin’s Crew, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for to families with children battling cancer, collaborated to create an Easter event for those children.
“There were lots of smiles today,” said Trolley Museum Executive Director John Proto. “It was absolutely incredible.”
The event was held on April 13. Activities included a volunteer doing Easter-themed crafts with the children, a trolley ride, an Easter Egg hunt, and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.
Heather Westbrook, co-founder of Colin’s Crew, said that one family had a child released from the hospital that day, and they came straight from the hospital to the event.
“It’s nice for families to get together that are going through similar situations,” said Westbrook, “It feels really good to see the kids interacting.”
