Payless ShoeSource Announces Old Saybrook Store to Close
Payless ShoeSource has announced that a number of retail stores will close following the filing of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition. The Old Saybrook location in the Old Saybrook Shopping Center is one of five Connecticut stores slated for closure.
The discount shoe store is expected to close 400 stores nationwide. Other closures may follow. In addition to Old Saybrook, the chain will close locations in Waterbury, Wethersfield, Newtown, and Norwalk. No date has been released for the stores to close.
According to a press release issued by the company, Payless will continue to operate in the ordinary course in terms of its customers, vendors, partners, and associates. The chain will also honor all gift cards.
