Sea House Comes to Madison
When the Madison Coffee Shop closed its doors at the end of 2016, building owner Jerry Davis of Davis Realty LLC promised the space would remain a restaurant, and it seems he has kept his word.
In June 2017, the space will be home to Sea House, a new restaurant from Guilford’s South Lane Bistro owners and operators Ariel and Walter Miller, Robert Celentano, and Grant Copeland.
The space, located downtown next to the movie theater at 765 Boston Post Road, is currently under renovation. Once completed, the restaurant will be open for dinner, able to seat approximately 40 people indoors and a few more on an outside patio.
Ariel Miller said she and her partners are excited to bring the new restaurant to Madison, specifically in the downtown area.
“Madison being on the shoreline conjures up moments we have all experienced, days on the beach, family, friends, relaxing, playing, gathering by the shore, and all of these moments are memorable because they are made sea-side,” she said. “Madison is a place where Sea House will be part of that experience and of that community and a place where we can fill our minds and our bodies and relax and enjoy the shoreline.”
As the name suggests, Sea House will offer some more seafood-based dishes and Miller said the restaurant will have some similar local-farm-based offerings that have made South Lane Bistro a success.
“While we will not offer the exact items that we have at South Lane, there may be some similarities,” she said. “The cuisine at Sea House will be casually refined American with subtly seafood centric offerings.”
Sea House is expected to open June 2017.
