Application Period for North Haven Post-Vietnam Veterans’ Monument Extended
First Selectman Michael J. Freda announced that the application period for inclusion on the Post-Vietnam Veterans’ Monument has been extended through July 31.
“We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to be included on this memorial,” stated Freda.
The Town of North Haven stated in June 2016 its intention of honoring town residents who served the U.S. honorably in wars and armed conflicts with the erection of a post-Vietnam Veterans’ monument on the Town Green. The monument will be constructed in 2017 with an anticipated unveiling as part of a Veteran’s Day commemoration. Interested parties are encouraged to get their applications submitted as soon as possible.
To apply, veterans may submit their application along with a copy of your DD-214 (no originals—DD-214 will not be returned) to the Office of the First Selectman by July 31. No applications will be considered after that date. Applications and eligibility requirements are available on the Town of North Haven website www.northhaven-ct.gov or in the Office of the First Selectman.
