01/18/2017 07:30 AMState Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) has been selected to serve as the leading House Republican lawmaker on the legislature’s Commerce Committee.
Yaccarino took the oath of office and was sworn in by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill in the State House Chamber. He then participated in a Joint Convention of both the House of Representatives and Senate as Governor Dannel Malloy addressed lawmakers about the 2017 Session.
“I am excited to start a new leadership position in the legislature’s Commerce Committee,” said Yaccarino. “As ranking member of the Commerce Committee I intend to lead with integrity and will work tirelessly over the 2017 legislative session. I hope to promote jobs and business growth in Connecticut and assist hard-working residents.”
Yaccarino, a four-term legislator will also serve on the legislature’s committee on Finance, Revenue, and Bonding; Executive and Legislative Nominations; and Screening Committees.
Yaccarino said he is honored by the opportunity to again serve all North Haven residents.
