Roots 4 Relief Planning Holiday Toy Drive
Roots 4 Relief, a non-profit organization, will be running a Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market Little Red Barn, 1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford. This will be the first event hosted by the non-profit, founded in 2016 and created as a platform for Bishop’s Orchards seventh generation children, Grace & Abigail DellaVentura and Addison Healy.
“Our goal with Roots 4 Relief is to empower our children to make a difference in their community,” says Co-Founder John DellaVentura. “We want our children to know that real change can start with them, and that helping others is a priority in life”
“In order for us to plan our future, we need to plan theirs. We need to be thankful, so that they are thankful. We need to be kind, so they are kind. We need to love and give back to each other, so they do,” says Co-Founder Matt Healy.
Roots 4 Relief’s mission is to create a platform for younger generations, enabling them to become the change that they envision, with the support of their families, community and local businesses. By facilitating charitable events and drives, younger generations can develop their own philanthropic path.
The Holiday Toy Drive will be accepting toys, games, books, and other gifts for all ages up to 15. Refreshments will be served to all who donate, as well as crafts for children, run by children. Donations and proceeds will be brought to local organizations and charities.
