Branford Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting Nov. 26
This morning, Zip06 asked Branford Recreation for confirmation, and it's official: Santa Claus is coming to town on Saturday, Nov. 26, to light the live Christmas Tree on the Branford green immediately following the annual Branford Holiday Parade.
Branford's Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting ceremony gets underway with the parade stepping off from Branford High School, 185 East Main St., at 6 p.m. sharp. The parade is beloved a holiday tradition brought to residents through combined efforts of Branford Recreation Department, Branford Public Works, Branford Police, Branford Fire Department, the Town of Branford and many wonderful volunteers.
Among the parade's favorite features are intricately decorated floats, many twinkling with holiday lights and packed with locals representing their school, organization, business or community group. Santa and Mrs. Claus ride into town on a classic fire engine.
The parade travels from the high school and continues onto Main Street, then turns onto Town Hall Drive off Main Street to lead parade goers to the town's live Christmas Tree. Following the tree lighting, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for a limited time for some visits and photos with children (bring your own camera).
In the event of inclement weather, the parade and tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27. For more information, call Branford Recreation Department at (203) 488-8304.
