North Branford Aids Decisive Win for Candelora
North Branford Republican Vincent Candelora has won a decisive sixth term as the 86th District Representative, with residents from his hometown voting overwhelmingly to keep Candelora in his role at the state capital.
The November 8, 2016 contest pitted Candelora against political newcomer Vincent "Vince" Mase, a Northford resident who entered the race in August as an Unaffiliated candidate. Candelora recieved 5,832 total votes from North Branford electors. Mase received 958 total votes.
In Hartford, Candelora has been deputy Republican leader since 2011 serving with the House Committee on Legislative Management and also serves on committees for Finance, Revenue, and Bonding; Judiciary; Public Health; and Regulations Review. In addition, Candelora has worked as chair of the House Screening Committee, reviewing all legislation before it's put up to a vote.
