In partnership with the national Drug Enforcement Administration, Branford Police will participate in National Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday, October 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No-questions-asked Take Back Day offers safe collection/disposal site for residents to bring their unused or expired medications. The take back place takes place at the Branford Police Department, 33 Laurel St., with officers and department staff on hand to help out.

Under the attention-grabbing tagline "Got Drugs?" the DEA annually promotes National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day as a way to "provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications." More DEA information on the national program can be found here

Branford Police Department sent notification of the Drug Take Back day, time and place via the town's emergency notification system, B-Informed. Police encourage residents to visit http://www.branfordpolice.com and follow the B-Informed link to sign up for future information dispatches and register best notification methods such as cell phone, email or pager.
