10/12/2016 10:47 AMBlackstone Library's fall fundraiser, CaddyStacks at Blackstone, returns for a second year. The library is installing an 18-hole mini golf course for all ages to play. On November 25, 26, and 27, 2016, everyone is invited to take a swing in the stacks.
The 18 greens and holes of the course will wind throughout the library, between the stacks and down stairs, on all three levels. Putters, balls, and scorecards will be provided to players, and favors and prizes will be offered throughout the course. A flat $5 admission fee applies to all daytime golfers, making this an affordable family outing and a great opportunity to support the Blackstone Library. Tickets are available online or at the door the day of the event. Visit www.blackstonelibrary.org for more information.
The mini golf event is not just for kids. On Saturday evening, there will be a special adults-only event, the 19th Hole Party. The event includes the opportunity to play the entire 18-hole course, an open bar with craft beer provided by Stony Creek Brewery and wine, finger foods, and prize drawings. Tickets for the adult event are $50 per person, or $150 per foursome and are on sale now. Purchase tickets online or at the library in advance.
Sponsorships of mini golf holes are still available. Approximately 500 individuals are expected to play at CaddyStacks, and since the library will be open, hundreds more will witness the fun – and see sponsor logos. Logos will be displayed at the sponsored hole and organizations will have the opportunity to decorate and place obstacles on their green. This is a great opportunity for businesses, organizations, or individuals to support the library and receive valuable community exposure. Sponsors include: Andy McKirdy & Attorney Robin Bruce Sandler, Connex Credit Union, Guilford Savings Bank, Matthew Hughes of Weichert Realtors, Michael Horton Associates, and Susan Barnes. For more information and to secure your sponsorship, please contact Katy Dillman at kdillman@blackstonelibrary.org or (203) 488-1441, ext. 313.
The funds raised by the CaddyStacks at Blackstone event will be used by the library to continue to enhance its mission of providing essential access to information, resources, and unique shared experiences to help ensure Branford is an educated and enriched community. Innovative programs such as "Math Matters" and "3D File Creation & Printing" for children, which incorporate stories and hands-on projects to reinforce the connections between the sciences, the arts, and literacy, and crucial services such as free computer classes, which help adult job seekers gain the skills they need for today's workforce, are made possible with support from the community.
